Herniated Disc

San Francisco Herniated Disc Experts at San Francisco Back Pain Relief

Discs are pads between each spinal bone (or vertebra). A spinal disc has two parts- a soft gel center (the "nulceus pulposis) and a tought outer part that is like a tire, holding the gel in (the "annulus fibrosis").  The disc acts as a shock absorber, and prevents the spinal joints from hitting each other.
San Francisco Herniated Disc A disc bulge happens when there is an internal tear in the annulus, allowing the gel center to push it out.  A disc herniation happens when there is a complete tear all the way to the outside of the disc, and the soft gel center ruptures though the outer wall of the disc (the "annulus fibrosus"). Disc herniations can occur in the neck, mid-back, and low back.

Herniated discs
are very common. While most of them have no symptoms, if the "sticking out" part of the disc is sitting on a spinal nerve root, there can be a lot of pain.

The main symptom is "pinched nerve pain" down the buttocks or in the legs.Severe back pain may be also present. Numbness, weakness, problems with balance or walking, and even partial or complete paralysis can occur - especially if the spinal cord is involved.

HERE IS A STORY OF PAIN AND HEALING:

I am a 42-year-old, male, Police Officer who retired in 2010 due to a back injury and failed spinal surgery in 2007.  I had lost all hope of a complete and fulfilling life, other then being on pain medications and having spinal injections, and did want to have another risky invasive surgery.

So in November of 2009 have started Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression, on the Axiom DRX9000, with Dr. Matt Rosenstein.  With in the first few visits I could feel the muscles in my low back stretching and the pressure off of my nerves.  My treatment plan took 30 visits, and I now have days where I have had no pain!  I feel more confident about my ability to do daily activities and I have a newfound hope for my future.  Due to the severity of my condition I will always be limited in what I can do, but if I can have fun with my son and have a reduction pain I will be happy.  Most likely I will have to have maintenance visits in the future, but you can't put a price on living an active and happy life. So, If you have a ruptured or bulged disc, and/or have had a failed back surgery, go see Dr. Matt.  The first few visits are free and his fees are very reasonable.  Call him now, and find out for yourself how spinal decompression can change your life!

Additionally, Dr. Matt, as he likes to be called, is a experienced DC, that takes the time to get know you and your situation, is very knowledgeable in his field, but is very personable.  His office is a small but cozy atmosphere, where the Dr. is with you all of the time, and there to answer questions and concerns, or just want to talk, he is there.  He personally answers his cell phone very quickly and is very flexible with his appointment times and will work with you.  So if those traits in your caregiver that are important to you, then Dr. Matt is your man.

His office is located in one of the best areas in SF, the Marina District.   There is always metered parking in the parking garage on Prierce at Lumbard, just have quarters.  Once you are done with your treatment with Dr. Matt, go outside and enjoy all that the Marina has to offer, restaurants, cafes, clothing shops, ice cream, cupcakes, banks and more.
